RYA Training CentreMaidenhead Sailing Club is a RYA approved training centre and can offer club members all of the RYA training programme in Sailing and Power Boating. 

Because of the way the club is constituted, we are unable to offer training to non members. However,  we always welcome new members and discounts are available if you take one of our sailing courses at the same time as joining the club.

 

RYA Sail Training

MSC is an ideal location for adults and juniors to learn or develop their sailing skills and gain internationally recognised qualifications. The training is done under the auspices of the RYA.  Courses include:-

 Water Activities Dates 2021

We are planning four sessions of five days. These courses are to have fun on the water and also for learning to sail for under 18’s in the school holidays

Skills Development Sessions

We introduced these sessions to allow members to develop their skills further. These can be held on Saturdays  and Sunday afternoons and are available either as group sessions or individually.

These sessions can include - upwind/downwind sailing, controlling boat speed, and advanced sailing techniques e.g. man overboard, sailing backwards and lee shore landings.  Offered by our 14 DIs

Racing skills , with our 5 RYA Race Coaches.

 

RYA Power Boat Training levels 1 and 2 

RYA Level 1 and  2 power boat training is available four times a year.

We offer RYA Safety Boat at a heavily subsidised rate to club members who help out with race duties.

RYA Safety Boat Training  

We offer RYA Safety Boat at a heavily subsidised rate to club members who help out with race duties.  It should be noted that for those interested in taking part in our Power boat courses that they must be taken in order. Safety boat courses can only be taken by those holding a valid Power Boat 2 certificate.

First Aid training

RYA first Aid training courses are run for members when a course can be filled.

 

RYA Yachting Theory Courses

Theory Courses are available on request minimum of 3-4 people for the following courses:-

Basic Navigation (16hrs) Day Skipper (40hrs) and Coastal-Yachtmaster (40hrs).
